Isle of Wight Festival 13-15 June '08

Just voted Best UK Major Festival of the Year, 2008's Isle of Wight Festival takes place from 13-15 June at Seaclose Park, Newport.

THE KAISER CHIEFS, SEX PISTOLS AND THE POLICE HEADLINE THE ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL 2008!!

More top acts have been added to the already stellar line up. Ian Brown, N.E.R.D, The Kooks, The Hoosiers and Scouting for Girls look set to turn up the heat during the 3-day event

Fresh from scooping the prize for Best Major UK Festival at this year's UK Festival Awards, the Isle of Wight Festival is again set to thrill tens of thousand of fans across the land over 3 days on 13th, 14th & 15th June. The Kaiser Chiefs headline Friday night; Sex Pistols headline Saturday night and The Police will headline the Festival with a closing night performance on Sunday in the beautiful surroundings of Seaclose Park, Newport.

Kaiser Chiefs have undoubtedly established themselves as one of Britain's most successful bands of the past few years, having scooped 3 x Brit awards for Best Rock Act, Best Live Act and Best Group plus an NME award for Best Album Saturday night is sure to see iconic punk rockers Sex Pistols deliver a unique show. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the Sex Pistols album Never Mind the Bollocks.... Here's the Sex Pistols and what better way to celebrate than by being part of the Isle of Wight's 3-day holiday in the sun.    It will be The Police taking to the stage for the coveted Sunday night headline slot.  The Police will return to Europe in 2008 as part of their Billboard Award winning tour, and the Isle of Wight performance will be the only UK festival show for the trio.

Now in its seventh year since its reincarnation in 2002, the festival brings together 50,000 free spirited, music loving, friends, families and Festival goers in front of one almighty stage, in a simply stunning setting. It is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and well-loved festivals on the calendar.

The full line up for the three day event promises to be packed with the best of British and top international acts.  Over the past seven years acts have included the Rolling Stones, Coldplay, REM, The Who and David Bowie as well as stars like Amy Winehouse, James Morrison, Snow Patrol, Keane and the Fratellis.
