Niton Barns
New for summer 2008, the Isle of Wight’s most luxurious self-catering properties have been cleverly carved from existing farm buildings in one of the most attractive parts of southern Wight. Each of the five luxurious converted barns, set on a farm within the picturesque village of Niton, has been individually converted with care to retain the traditional character of old farm buildings.
All of the barns offer a wide range of facilities, including fully equipped kitchen, under floor heating, flatscreen TVs in living room and bedrooms, and free wifi internet access, allocated parking, patio area with BBQ and seating, and communal courtyard area – perfect for families or couples sharing.
On the doorstep: The surrounding countryside – including St. Catherine’s Down, America Wood and the Landslip running from St. Lawrence along to Bonchurch, ocean views, and proximity to south coast coves and beaches make it the location perfect for active families.
Going green: To coincide with its opening in May 2008, Niton Barns was given the Gold Award for accommodation by Green Island Tourism, to mark its commitment to eco-tourism. Its sustainable tourism initiatives include the use of air source heat pumps to avoid non-renewable energy resources, drought tolerant planting schemes and extensive recycling.
