Not The Beach Again!
Earlier this year we gave children visiting our website the chance to tell us what they like and dislike about family holidays. For example, we asked whether they preferred visiting a fun attraction to building sandcastles on the beach. Or whether they would rather take an exhilarating cliff walk with their dog than go for a swim? We wanted to find out whether a visit to the beach is still the top children’s choice or whether the prospect of a day in the sand caused cries of “not the beach again, Mum”
Not surprisingly our survey confirmed that kids have very strong opinions about their likes and dislikes. We found that whilst many traditional beach activities remain firm favourites, visits to animal attractions and theme parks came close.
In this guide, Wightlink focuses on the activities and places that proved popular with children taking part in the online survey…. on the beach, away from the beach and on those infrequent rainy Isle of Wight days.
It is divided into three sections for easy reference and explains why to visit and what age groups each attraction will best suit as well as giving opening dates and costs.
