Lymington Wightlink Terminal Alternative Location

In response to a proposal from a number of local key stakeholders, Wightlink agreed to commission an initial report investigating the suitability of an alternative location at Pennington for a ferry terminal servicing the existing route between Lymington and Yarmouth.

The scope of the report was confined to marine feasibility and safety matters only. Further studies will be required on a range of issues, including infrastructure, road access and a variety of environmental and habitat concerns in order to progress the proposal.

However at this early stage, notwithstanding the financial and environmental implications the proposed location would appear to have many benefits.
